TSC v Nail Bay Sports Club – Squash – April 27

Unfortunately, it was a quiet start to the trip to Nail Bay as nobody could think of a team song for the taxi.

The courts were as good as we all remembered.

Thoughts of no game faces and only smiles quickly vanished when, shortly after welcoming everyone, Joe Kneipp, Manager of NBSC, produced the prizes for the tourney 🏅

Eyes quickly glossed over the first prize of a new racket when they realised Nail Bay towels were up for grabs 🤩

Eyes were narrowed, games were sharpened leading to a tremendously tight handicap tournament.

Quality was everywhere Delilah’s killer boast, the Campbell drop and a few frame shot winners that nobody wanted to own up to.

Handicap rules – you had two choices – play hard or not. Few went for the hard option except our eventual finalist who took out Howard in the semis and Ryan – nobody can remember who he beat. 🤫

SEMIS:
Tony “I play me drop shots with my eyes closed” Campbell vs Walter “Did anyone see me play in the semis” Reich. Delilah “Let’s play hard” Pease vs Howard “I don’t know his surname” ……….

THE FINAL
Was played in true highland fighting spirit with Tony and Delilah agreeing to a straight game. What a match with an eventual 15-14 win to Delilah 🥇Super game – well done both of you 👏

Great day, thanks to Joe and the NB team for hosting, thanks to all those who came along. We’ll do it again!
