Noblett-Diaz and Pease compete at 2025 British Junior Open

Moving onwards and upwards at the start of the year, the current Caribbean Champions, Jakob Noblett-Diazz U13 and Delilah Pease (U11) – who is also the Canadian Junior Open champ – took part in the prestigious British Junior Open held in the UK January 2-6, 2025.

Jakob played 4 matches against the strongest players from Canada, Poland, China and Japan. He managed to win 1 of his 4 matches giving him a finishing position of 57/58.

After losing a tight first round match to the English no.1, Delilah went on to win 3 of her next 4 matches to finish 19th – a very impressive finish in the world’s biggest junior tournament!

Up next for these two will be our Junior National Championships coming up in February.

“The British Junior Open was a massive learning experience for both Jakob and Delilah. Being at tournaments of that standard is exactly what our juniors need in order to progress to the next level. It’s not only about the matches they play, but also just being around the absolute best players in the world and soaking up the atmosphere. Both of them faced a higher level of player than they’re used to competing against. I’m definitely proud of both of them for challenging themselves and I’m looking forward to their continued development over the next few months!’ – National Squash Coach Adam Murrills.
